Grace Liza Y. Concepcion holds a PhD in History from UP Diliman. Her current research projects delves into the emergence and development of Philippine colonial society in the 16th and 17th centuries, particularly focusing on people’s mobilities, labor, and property. She is especially interested in the intertwined lives of colonial subjects arising from the interactions of the Iberian empires in Southeast Asia. More recently, she has developed an interest in the configuration of public memory in the Philippines, its historical development, and the discourses that shape it.
