Abstract:

A detailed examination of the liberation of Laguna province from Japanese rule by US Army and Filipino and Chinese guerrillas in 1945. The liberation campaigns, while freeing the people of Laguna from oppressive Japanese rule, was, however, accompanied by much destruction and loss of life from Japanese massacres and retaliation, and artillery shelling and aerial bombardment, thus resulting in both trumps and tragedy.
