Ruel V. Pagunsan is an Associate Professor and the current chair of the UP Department of History. He specializes in Philippine environmental history, history of science, and diplomatic history.
Graduate Program Coordinator
Kristoffer R. Esquejo is an Associate Professor at the UP Department of History and the current Graduate Program Coordinator of the Department of History. He provides support and management in the proper implementation of the Department’s graduate program.
Undergraduate Program Coordinator
Francis Justine M. Malban is an Assistant Professor and the current Undergraduate Program Coordinator of the UP Department of History. He provides support and management in the proper implementation of the Department’s undergraduate program.
Kerby C. Alvarez is an Associate Professor and is the current Quality Assurance (QA) Officer of the Department. As QA Officer, he oversees the data gathering and drafting of the Department’s Self-Assessment Report (SAR) which will be used for self-assessment and external accreditation purposes. As such, he works closely with the Chairperson and the Coordinators to accomplish the demands and requirements of the SAR.
Aaron F. Viernes is an Assistant Professor and the current Extension and Public Affairs Coordinator of the Department. As Extension Coordinator, he ensures the proper implementation of the Department’s Institutional Agenda by bringing history closer to various audiences through conferences, symposia, and seminars. He also coordinates with other faculty members with regard to their individual extension agenda. Dr. Alvarez also oversees the maintenance of the Department’s official website and social media accounts.
