CALL FOR FACULTY APPLICATIONS
Full-time Faculty and Lecturer Positions for Academic Year 2023-2024
The Department of History belongs to the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP) of the University of the Philippines Diliman. Established on 3 June 1910, the department began its master’s program in 1915 and launched its doctorate program in 1976. It has served as the country’s leading institution in terms of teaching, research, and extension work related to the discipline of history, and it continues to encourage the development of new areas in the teaching and writing of history into the 21st century. It is in this context and perspective that the department recruits, hires, and retains faculty members who are committed to the realization of the mission and vision of the department that are aligned as well with the mandate of the University of the Philippines as the country’s national university.
Even though classes have shifted back to regular face-to-face mode, the Department of History will still facilitate this year’s faculty application process online.
Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:
A. For Full-time Faculty Position
- must possess a degree in History;
- must have at least a master’s degree from a reputable university; and
- must demonstrate teaching and research capability.
B. For Lecturer Position
- must possess a degree in History; and
- must demonstrate teaching and research capability.
The deadline for application submission is on Friday, 14 April 2023 (up to 11:59 PM).
Applicants are required to accomplish an online application form and upload the requirements through the designated Google Form link. Among the requirements to be submitted are:
1. Letter of application addressed to the Department Chairperson;
2. Certified transcript of records and/or diploma;
3. PSA-issued birth certificate;
4. Updated curriculum vitae with 2×2 ID picture; and
5. Two (2) letters of recommendation from former professors and work supervisors;
6. Available proof of teaching experience, publications, conference presentations, and extension work.
