The UP Diliman Departments of Anthropology and History, with the UP Film Institute and the UP Diliman Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts, will be hosting a special film screening of Chuck Escasa's "Ghosts of Kalantiaw."

This event will be held on October 27, 2025 (Monday) at the Cine Adarna from 2:30 - 5:30 PM.

Part of the official selection at the 2023 Singapore International Film Festival, "Ghosts of Kalantiaw" explores the legacies of the pseudo-historical figure of Datu Kalantiaw by investigating the career and motivations of Jose E. Marco, a storied antiquarian and the mastermind behind multiple historical hoaxes in the Philippines throughout the 20th century.

The special screening will be followed by a talkback session with the filmmakers.

The screening is free and open to the public. To attend, please register using the QR code or go to https://tinyurl.com/kalantiaw2
