JOHN CARLOS DUQUE is a Teaching Associate and concurrently a graduate student at the UP Department of History where he also finished his Bachelor of Arts in History (summa cum laude). His research interest includes cultural history, social history, mobility studies, and the history of migration in the Philippines and East Asia. Currently, his research interrogates the history of Japanese migrants and their social and cultural networks within and beyond the spaces of early modern Philippines.
