Kristyl Obispado, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. She holds a PhD and MA in History from El Colegio de México. Her current research focuses on Philippine labor history from the 16th to the 19th century, as well as on transpacific trade, mobility, and migration during the Spanish colonial period.
