It aims to provide advanced training for scholars who seek to specialize in Philippine History. Emphasis is placed on research based on primary sources and current historical methodologies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">Graduate students are required to take courses in Philippine history with focus on the various time periods and themes. Another major requisite for the completion of the program is the production of a master\u2019s thesis or a doctoral dissertation. For those in the Ph.D. program, an additional comprehensive exam is also required.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Master of Arts (History) Program Learning Outcomes <\/strong>(Approved in September 2023)<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of the major themes, trends, issues, and problems in the historical discipline.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Design and conduct well-grounded and well-informed research projects utilizing primary sources and appropriate approaches and methodologies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Produced ethically-sound and socially relevant research outputs that contribute to existing historical knowledge.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Communicate historical knowledge and research outputs in various venues and with different publics.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Promote historical consciousness and nation-building through historical scholarship.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Master of Arts (History) Program of Study<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;
