My research interest has been largely influenced by my family and since my family has always been strong on the natural sciences, I decided to work on the history of medicine. Since coming back to the department, I have been involved in developing our curriculum and I am now looking forward to teaching the historical development of science, technology and medicine.

My interests are varied but reading has always been my passion. This is probably why I decided to do history. I don’t have a favorite book or a favorite author but I am a great fan of Sherlock Holmes. Apart from reading, I also cook. My specialty is Indian food but my ropa vieja is to die for, hehe. I like to hang out with my friends and talk about all sorts of things. I have also recently rediscovered modern dance. I like to watch movies (God of Gamblers is my favorite because of Chow Yun Fat) and listen to music, particularly classical guitar because I find it very peaceful. Since graduate school, I have taken to running and long walks. I also swim whenever I can. These activities and my pet dog Dexter, help clear my mind.
